Virginia Morris is an experienced psychotherapist with fifteen years
of private practice as a licensed marriage, family and child therapist.
California’s MFT certification means that she has received over 3,000
hours of supervised training in assessing and treating individuals and
couples with a broad range of psychological and/or interpersonal
concerns.
Dr. Morris wrote her doctoral thesis on projective identification as
seen in couples. She is broadly experienced across the spectrum
of mental disorders and trained to evaluate whether a person's
concern is amenable to psychotherapy or if there is a medical factor
contributing to their emotional or mental wellbeing.
With nine years of teaching experience in elementary education, she
has also taught continuing education courses on adult relationships.
Dr. Morris earned a teaching credential in Elementary
Education at UCLA.
Her postgraduate studies include courses in couples’ therapy with
Walter Brackelmanns M.D. at UCLA's Neuropsychiatric Institute,
training in short term dynamic psychotherapy and courses at the
American Neuro-Psychiatric & American Psychiatric Association
Annual Meetings.
